About Dikiy Z. Part 3.

Traveler’s Notes. Part 3

And now I would like to focus on a small event that made me forget about apartments in Odessa and brought me back into my own being. I must confess, Odessan charming and fragrant air had blown all my awareness of who and what I was out of my mind. I simply forgot that I had traveled miles with a six-string in my hand and that I had been in a blues band for about five years. It was not until I came across a music shop that I came back down to earth. Funny, isn’t it? Well, I came in and took an acoustic guitar and went soloing, attracting the attention of the guy running the store. Not saying a word, he took another six-string and went about some luring Buddy Guy riff. After the little ten-minute jam, he said he played at Dikiy Z – a blues bar – on evenings, and then he added he was going to play that evening too. Mesmerized by the prospect of joining a jam in a couple of hours and his do-you-really-need-a-verbal-invitation countenance, I decided to get back to the Eleganza Hotel for a little nap and bracing up for one hell of a night at one hell of a blues club!
